DARBYSHIRE, Shirley "Sally"
Shirley "Sally" Darbyshire, age 82 of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on June 5th of 2017. Sally was born in Butte, Montana on October 17, 1934 to parents George "Peggar" and Mary "Molly" Lee.

Sally attended St. Lawrence O'Toole grade school and was a graduate of Girls Central Class of 1952. She next attended Columbus School of Nursing in Great Falls, Montana and was a member of the 1955 graduating class.

Sally married Walter "Darby" G. Darbyshire Jr. in Great Falls, Montana in April 1956. From there, "Darby", a US Air Force Pilot, took his new bride to Keflavik, Iceland. This union resulted in their son Walter "Wally" G. Darbyshire III on January 27, 1957. "Sally" pursued her nursing career as the family traveled the world including Europe and Japan. Upon retiring from the US Air Force after 21 glorious years, the whole family returned to Austin, Texas in 1974. Sally retired from Sears (Southwood Mall and Barton Creek Mall) after more than 20 years.

"Sally" had many talents and interests such as nursing, bridge, and collecting Hummels, but she always put family first. Her beloved husband preceded her in death November 30, 1994. Her brother, George B. Lee and her nephew, Joe Lee also preceded her in death.

Her survivors include her son, Walter "Wally" G. Darbyshire III and his fiance, Wendi; her sister, Colleen Johnson and her husband, Phillip; nieces, Tori Gleich and husband, Jaime, Gwen Felstet, and Jennifer Adams; her sister-in-law, Sharon Lee of Lakewood, California; nephew, Thomas Lee; her sister-in-law, Gloria Darbyshire Rutgers; nieces, Catherine and Caroline and nephew, Tim; along with countless cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Services will be held at Ft. Sam National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78209) on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at 11:15 a.m. Condolences may be made at www.cookwaldenforestoaks.com.
