She was born March 30, 1927, in Mitchells, Culpeper County, to the late Robert Fitzhugh Lee and Harriet Lee.
Mrs. Cox was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Lee Cox Sr.
Survivors include three children, Thelma Harding of Fredericksburg, Dennis Cox of Goldvein and Marion L. Cox Jr., of Goldvein; a brother, Briscoe Lee of Front Royal; a sister, Lucy Merritt of Kenewick; four grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. The Rev. Peyton Embrey will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Midland. Interment will take place in the Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in, Goldvein.
