My first dog. Everyone in the family got to give her a name. She really was "Miscellaneous" because we had no idea what mixture she was. She was black with a big silver spot on her side and a silver stripe from her forehead down her snout. She was smart, she was loving, and she was a real actress.

My dad accidentally caught her paw in the front door one day; she limped around the living room until he told her to let him see it. She limped over to him; he felt her leg up and down, and told her she was absolutely fine. She licked his face and walked away; no limps. She should get an Academy Award!

Missy used to follow me to school, and I had to turn around and walk her back home. I wasn't living at home when she died; I think I was already in the Navy. I wish I remembered the years she was born and died, but I don't. Those listed are guesses, though I know her birthday is July 18th. No idea why I remember that after all these years.

Good girl. Good dog. I sure miss you. What a wonderful, loving girl.

A HUGE loving thank you to Debra Dawson for sponsoring my sweet Missy's memorial. I am forever grateful.
