John B. LeJeune, Sr., 74, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend departed this earth for his place in heaven on Sunday, June 21, 2009. His mother Annie Turner and father Ned LeJeune, along with sister Rita Amy eagerly awaited him with open arms. John was born on November 18, 1934 in Church Point. While visiting his sister in Westlake, he met his lifelong partner and wife, Abbie Faye Reed. Together for almost 54 years, they weathered life's ups and downs. They raised four children and lived long enough to see their grandchildren and great grandchildren. John spent many years on the road as a cross - country trucker with Younger Brothers and a member of Teamsters local 969. Retiring from trucking due to illness, he went to work at Himont and was a member of Operators Local 106. During his life, he enjoyed camping and vacationing with his family. His appetite for life was as big as his appetite for good food. He is survived by his wife Abbie and two daughters and spouses, Peggy and Richard Martin of Houston, TX and Linda and Roy Armentor of Lacassine; two sons and spouses John Jr. and Pat LeJeune of Lake Charles and Richard and Carolyn LeJeune of Baytown, TX. John was also blessed with grandchildren, Ryan Young, Allison Corbello, Jessica Jolie and spouse Trevor "Trooper", Kayla and Sierra LeJeune and step grandsons Pvt. James Martin, US Army, Jerad Martin and Nicholas Benoit as well as great grandsons, Corbin Young, Ethan and Owen Corbello. He is also survived by his sister Hilda Leger of Orange, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. John will be missed by his family and friends, however, they know the suffering he endured in the last years of his life is over and he rests in heaven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from St Margaret Catholic Church under direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Derek Covert will officiate. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 until 9 pm with a 7:00 pm rosary and from 8 am until 9:30 am on Wednesday. A special thanks to Dr. Lewis Jr. and Dr. Becnel and to the ICU Staff at Christus St Patrick Hospital for their kindness and compassion during our father's last week of life.
