Esther was born in Des Moines to Domenic and Angelina Leone on March 25, 1923. She was a Southside resident all of her life and a proud graduate of Lincoln High School. After retiring from the Polk County Recorder's Office, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Esther is survived by her children, Francis P. Anania, Jr. (Linda), Donna Reich (Charles), Susan Hunter (Erick); six grandchildren, Francis P. Anania III, Christy Gooding, Ryan Anania, John Reich, Nicholas and Kathleen Hunter, and seven great-grandchildren. Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Francis P. Anania, Sr., son, Angelo P. Anania and brothers Clement, Julian and Charles Leone.
