She was born Jan. 5, 1909, in Fredonia, the daughter of Frank and Bertha Latona Leone. A lifelong Fredonia resident, she had been the proprietor of Helene's Beauty Shoppe in Fredonia from 1929 to 2001. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Rody Batykefer, whom she married Oct. 7, 1991; two daughters: Margaret ‘‘Peggy'' Tofil of North Las Vegas, Nev., and Sally Clark of Baldwinsville; a son, Donald Lazarony of Falconer; three stepdaughters: Bonnie Saletta of Fredonia, Rosemary Zmuda of Charleston, S.C., and Barbara Rudolph of Parker, Colo.; two stepsons: Anthony Johnson Jr. of Fredonia and Rody Batykefer Jr. of Albion, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son in March 1931; her first husband, Samuel Lazarony in 1969; her second husband, Anthony Johnson Sr. in 1987; four sisters: Salvina Barone, Marie Molino, Josephine Springman and Cecilia Alessi; and two brothers, Dr. Russell Leone and Anthony Leone.
