SHERMAN - Patricia A. "Tricia" Hofman of Sherman passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 at St. John's Hospice.
She was born July 18, 1952 in Champaign, the daughter of Robert D. and Betty R. Ditzler Lewis.
Tricia married her best friend and love of her life, Raymond S. Hofman, on February 12, 1972 and he survives.
Tricia is also survived by one sister; three brothers, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Also surviving is her sister-in-law and nephews and brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Tricia grew up in Murphysboro, Illinois moving to Springfield in 1972 where she was employed by the State of Illinois for 33 years. She retired in 2005.
She was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Springfield.
She loved to read mysteries, sing, play the piano, bowl and meet with her "Panera Girlfriends" Barb, Ginger, Hilary, Judy and their beautiful children.
She enjoyed vacationing with her monthly "Girls Night Out" friends. She loved to travel. Her favorite trips were to Italy. She was a member of the Teal Ovarian Cancer Support Group.
Her life was filled with children, laughter, many cups of coffee with friends.
She was faithful to her loving Lord, who gave her peace and contentment throughout her courageous battle against ovarian cancer.
Memorial Service: 3:00 pm, Saturday, April 30, 2011 at First Church of the Nazarene, 5200 South 6th Street, Springfield, with the Reverend Fred Prince officiating.
