Maria Conceicao Bernardo, 92, of North Dartmouth, wife of the late Jose Bernardo, passed away peacefully on Saturday. Born in Ribeira Quente, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Enos and Ana Linhares (Cidade) Lima.
A homemaker, her passion in life was raising respectful children and grandchildren. She enjoyed teaching cleanliness, cooking, gardening, crocheting, and baking, especially her famous sweet bread and bolos Levedos. Maria also loved to tell interesting stories about her childhood.
She leaves her four children: Celeste Reis and her husband Manuel, Claudia (late husband-Joao) and her companion Antonio Botelho, of Fall River, Vinny Tabicas and her husband Joseph of North Dartmouth, and Paul Bernardo and his wife Etelvina of Fall River; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Alda Lima; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Manuel Lima and sister of the late Guilherme Lima, Gilda Lima, and Maria Santos.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony of Padua Church . Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery.
