Christina May Agre, 87, a retired Great Falls bookkeeper, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 7, in the Rose Room at Croxford Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Nelle "Dody" (C. Larry) Sproles of Great Falls; a grandson, Brian (Barbara) Sproles; great-grandchildren, Kayla Sproles, Justin Sproles and Jennifer Weiss. A great-great-granddaughter, McKenna Christina Weiss also survives. Two sisters-in-law, Fern Lindberg of Great Falls and Hazel Lindberg of Seattle, survive, as well as special friends, Bill and Mary Duryee of Great Falls.

Christina was born on Sept.19, 1922, in Great Falls, a daughter of Nels Helmer Lindberg and Nellie E. (Fields) Lindberg. She attended schools in Great Falls and Fort Shaw. She spent her freshman year at Great Falls High, and her remaining three years of high school at Simms High School, graduating there in the class of 1940. She then went to college for a year in Bozeman at Montana State College.

Christina worked at various office jobs prior to her marriage to Arthur E. Agre on April 3, 1942. After 1945, she was employed by the former Deaconess Hospital here, and then she worked for the Great Falls Paper Company for 20 years. She worked for Knight and Company, an architectural firm, retiring in 1977. Following retirement, she and her husband, Art, spent 13 winters in Arizona. They returned to Great Falls to stay in 1989, where she enjoyed her hobbies of reading, fishing, camping, oil painting, crocheting, bowling, bingo and growing flowers in her yard. She also served as a Girl Scout leader and 4-H leader for over 10 years. She had been a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Eagles' Auxiliary and the Sons of Norway.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Smith, and two brothers, John Lindberg and Ralph Lindberg.

Memorials are suggested to Peace Hospice of Montana, 1101 26th St. S., Great Falls, MT 59405 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
