She was born June 13, 1942 in Superior, Wis., to Ellsworth and June (Armitage) Lindberg.
She was a 1961 graduate of East High School and a graduate of the Duluth School of Cosmetology. She married Dennis Arthur on April 28, 1962 in Duluth. Joan and Dennis owned and operated Ziebart Rust Proofing and Twin Ports Furnace & Duct Cleaning where she worked as the Office Manager. She was a member of Homecroft Homemaker Club, Knitter's Guild, Spiritual Science Fellowship the Montreal Quebec Midwest Chapter, and the Girl Scout Troop 90. Joan donated hundreds of mittens, hats and socks to various charities.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Joan is survived by her husband, Dennis; step-mother, Lillian Lindberg of Duluth; son, Stephen Arthur of Duluth; daughters, Sara (Daniel) Dankers of Woodbury, Minn., Kristin Arthur of Golden Valley, Minn.; brother, Jack (Annie) Lindberg of McGregor, Minn.; and three grandchildren, Hannah, Sophie and Rachel Dankers.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Dougherty Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the Service. Inurnment at Sunrise Memorial Park.
