News of the death of Mrs Andrew Anderson after a short illness, which took place at the home of her daughter, Mrs E N Nordin on Sunday evening, Aug 10, 1919 at 7 pm occasioned universal sorrow in our entire community, where she was much beloved and highly esteemed. Deceased had been ill but a few days, and during her last hours lapsed into unconsciousness passing over the silent river, from whence there is no return, as if going to sleep. Death was the result of septicemia.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Lillian Caroline Lindberg was born at Center City, Minn, July 12, 1864 and at her death had attained the age of 55 years and 28 days. She resided many years at Fish Lake, where her parents located on a farm, and was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church in 1885. She was married Aug 28, 1886, to Andrew Anderson, who with one daughter Mrs E N [Irene] Nordin survives her. Mr and Mrs Anderson resided on a farm at Fish Lake for about 20 years, in which time she proved herself a devoted wife, mother and helpmeet.

They moved to Rush City in 1905 and have since lived here, Mr Anderson has engaged in the furniture business in recent years. They have a pleasant home which just at this time they were placing splendid improvements upon, in order that they might enjoy their declining years in the ease and comfort which they have earned through years of energy and thrift. The sudden illness with which Mrs Anderson was taken necessitated moving her to the home of her daughter where she passed away and the regret is, that she will never be able to enjoy the comfort of her home as planned. The bereaved husband and loved ones have universal sympathy.

Mrs Anderson was a woman of kindly spirit, she was devoted to the Christian life and exemplified its teaching in her every day living. Two small grandchildren, baby daughters of Mrs Nordin survive her, besides sisters and brother and their families. Mrs August Olson of Fish Lake, is a sister; Theo Lindberg of Rush City, a brother and Mrs A Christensen of St Paul a sister.

One of the largest assemblages of record in Rush City, if like nature gathered at the Swedish Lutheran church on Tuesday, Aug 12, 1919, when the services in charge of Director F W Hanson, in memory of deceased, took place. At two o'clock pm the home service was given and at two thirty at the church, where impressive services took place. Rev C W Samuelson pastor, chose his text from Tom. 8:17-18, indicating the joy revealed to the child like spirit, which endures bodily and spiritual suffering as an inheritor of the kingdom of God. To this end he commended the bereaved ones, holding forth the glorious promises of the Saviour of mankind. Rev Pihlgren from Fish Lake, former pastor of deceased delivered an address in Swedish. A choir consisting of Mrs C A Anderson, Minnie Bergstrom, Hjalmar Anderson and Axel Johnson sang, Miss Elvira Johnson, accompanist. Flowers in set pieces, clusters and sprays were numerous and beautiful in remembrance. All business was suspended in town during the hours of 1 and 3 pm. The pallbearers were: john Anderson, Aaron Nelson, Chas Westerlund, John H Nelson, A M Matson, and Carl H Sommer.

The relatives indicated were all present, with their families, with the exception of Mrs Christenson, a sister, detained at Aberdeen S. Dak., by illness in the family of her daughter, Mrs Einar Anderson. A long line of auto wound its way to the Swedish Lutheran cemetery, following the auto hearse, where interment was given.
