Ellen Josephine Lindberg Dorenbush, age 72, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 1963 at Shady Lane Rest Home where she had been a resident for the past 3 1/2 years.
She was the daughter of the late August and Fredericka Lindberg, pioneer residents of Paddock township. She grew to womanhood and spent all of her life in the Sebeka and Menahga communities until December 8, 1959 when she was admitted to Shady Lane Rest Home.
On June 10, 1915 she was married to Evert Dorenbush of Buffalo Center, Iowa and moved to their farm in Paddock township where they lived until the fall of 1945. They lived in Sebeka until 1956 and Menahga for a short while.
Five children were born to bless this home.
She is survived by her husband Evert, of Sebeka; and four sons, John V. of Lakota, Iowa; Ervin A. of Sumner, Washington, Martin W. of Hewitt, Minn., and Louis D. of Sebeka. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys, who passed away in 1938. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Frank; and two half sisters, Mrs. Frank (Hilda) Gustafson and Mrs. Victor (Hannah) Turnbladh.
She is also survived by two brothers, Albert Lindberg of Fergus Falls and Alvin Lindberg of Sebeka; thirteen grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 11, 1963 at 1:30 P.M. at the Sebeka Methodist church with Pastor Arthur Rupp officiating, Pastor Stormoen and Rev. J.M. Newton accompanied by Mrs. J.M. Newton.
Interment was made in the village cemetery, Sebeka.
