Eunice L. "Boots" Albrecht
Eunice LaVerne "Boots" Albrecht from Odebolt, Iowa was born March 20, 1915, in Wheeler Township, Sac County, Iowa to Anton W. and Lydia (Lind) Lindstrom. She was baptized and confirmed on January 25, 1970. After her graduation from the Odebolt High School, Boots taught in a country school. In Odebolt she was a homemaker and worked in her restaurant business. Later she was employed as a bookkeeper for the local elevator and then for the Odebolt Chronicle. On February 1, 1969 Eunice was untied in marriage to Melvin D. Albrecht. They lived on their acreage in Odebolt and after Melvin's death in 1991, she moved to her apartment.
Boots was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and was a member of a state championship team. Later her hobbies included reading, picture puzzles, needlework, and crafts. She also enjoyed collecting elephant figures.
On September 17, 1998, Boots passed away at the Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove following a heart attack and stroke while hospitalized. She had reached the age of 83 years, five months, and 27 days.
Boots is survived by her brother, Dale Lindstrom and his wife Joan of Carroll; son, Kyle McGonigle and his wife Sandra of Des Moines; grandson, Kevin McGonigle and his wife Mary of Poguoson, Virginia; granddaughter, Cindy Sandoval and her husband Hector of Fairfax, Virginia; and three great grandchildren, Keanan and Kathleen McGonigle and Sara Sophia Sandoval.
Boots was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Merrill and Lloyd; and two sisters, Maybelle and Jeannette.
