Cora Linkous Dickerson, 95, of Blacksburg, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born June 8, 1920, in Montgomery County. She was the youngest of nine children born to Lewis C. and Lillie Richardson Linkous. Her parents, four brothers, and four sisters preceded her in death. Her husband of 59 years, the love of her life, H. Randolph Dickerson also preceded her.

Cora joined Blacksburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1942. She sang in the choir for more than 50 years and served in many other capacities over the years. She was especially active in the Christian Women's Fellowship. In her early life, she worked at Brown's Hardware and Gifts, then later at Ridinger's Hardware and Gifts for over 30 years.

Survivors include her very special church family with Minister Gary W. McCoy and his wife, Jane, adopted family, Phyllis and Pervis (Blackie) Blevins, their son and daughter, Craig and friend, Annie Savage, and Beth; special niece, Esther Crosier and husband, Bob; nephew, Gordon Linkous and wife, Martha; special cousin, Steel Gray Shanklin and husband, Jack; several other nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Heritage Hall, especially her special caretaker, Jennifer Musselman.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015, in the Blacksburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Christian Church (Building Fund), 240 Watson Avenue, Blacksburg, VA 24060. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
