Lorna Arnold Lorna Eileen Arnold, 70, of Lomax, Ill., died at the scene of a car-train collision at a rural crossing near Stronghurst, Ill.

Born in Easton, Ill., she was the daughter of Loren and Ethel Brownfield List. She married G. Hobart Arnold Nov. 29, 1944, in Lincoln, Ill.

She had lived in Mason City, Easton, Petersburg, Ottawa and Marseilles, Ill., before moving to Lomax in 1986. She was a certified food inspector and had worked at Friendship House and for Department of Children and Family Services, both in Ottawa. She was a 4-H leader in Petersburg for many years. For the past 10 years, she was a member of Lomax-Carman Senior Citizens and was an active member of Lomax Christian Church and its women's organizations.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mike Arnold of Lomax and Andy Arnold of Marseilles, Ill.; three daughters, Janice Arnold and Lorna Boston, both of Greenview, Ill., and Kathie Heidrick of Danville, Ill.; one sister, Norma McGee of Springfield, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-uncle; and one aunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

A memorial service was held at Lomax Christian Church, with the Rev. Sendel Barr officiating. The committal service followed.
