A graveside service for Dorothy Mildred Colpitts of Bellingham will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Bayview Cemetery. Family and friends may meet at 12:30 p.m. at Jones-Moles Funeral Home for a procession to the cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Unity Church, with the Rev. Pete Rhea officiating.

Mrs. Colpitts died Saturday, April 8, 2000, at her home. She was 90.

Born March 10, 1910, to Peter and Caroline (Bondesen) Loft at the family home at 916 Kentucky St., she also died there.

Mrs. Colpitts worked for Pacific Laundry on Ellis Street and Brown & Cole Grocery Store at State and James streets before moving to San Francisco in 1940. While in San Francisco, she managed Safeway stores during World War II.

On Aug. 9, 1943, she married Cecil D. Colpitts in San Francisco and they were married for 52 years. He died in 1996.

Mrs. Colpitts was active in Danish Brotherhood of America, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sunnyland PTA, Order of Amaranth and Unity Church. She also served as precinct committeewoman for the Republican Party.

Survivors include daughter Carol Colpitts of Lynnwood, son Dan Colpitts of the family home and many nieces and nephews.
