May L. Loft Eavey, 83, formerly of Lafayette, died at 10:55 PM Saturday [Feb. 25, 1983] in Lafayette Home Hospital. She had been a resident of Augsburg Village in Mulberry for a month and in failing-health two months. Born near Dayton in Sheffield Township, she was a graduate of Dayton High School and Indiana Business College. On May 10, 1922, she married Homer P. Eavey, who died in 1965.
Mrs. Eavey, a life resident of Tippecanoe County, was a member of Clarks Hill Christian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Lafayette Home Hospital Auxiliary, and was past matron and 50-year member of Dayton Chapter 233, Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son, Gilbert Eavey of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Bertie Lou Brown of Kingwood, TX; a nephew, Robert Loft, who was reared in the Eavey home; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
