Mary (Lombardi) Bidinost passed away November 29, 2012, 3 days before her 99th birthday. Mary was born in Martinez, the 3rd of 6 children of Venanzio and Rosa Lombardi. The family moved to Bay Point (later named Port Chicago) in 1918. She married Ernest Bidinost in 1938 and they raised their family in Port Chicago until the town was bought out by the Navy, after which they moved to Concord. Mary worked as a bookkeeper at the family (Lombardi)-owned Clayton Valley Lumber Co. until her retirement.
After retirement she and her husband enjoyed taking trips with the Concord Senior Citizens Club. She also enjoyed family gathering, music, playing cards and bingo at the Senior Center.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Lidia; brother, Gerald Lombardi; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest in 1997; brothers, Elmo Lombardi and Frank Lombardi and sisters, Vee Carlson and Christine Withers; two nieces and one nephew.
