Rosa Antonio (Lopes) Andrade, 98, of Brockton, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at her home. She was the wife of the late Serafim Andrade. Born Dec. 17, 1911, in Fogo, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Jose Antonio Lopes and Maria Lopes. Mrs. Andrade enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Avelino, Jose, Belarmino, Livio, Joao, Ilina DeAndrade and Celeste Mendes; her sisters, Maria Fidalga Rosa and Catarina Lopes. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, great great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Alberto DeAndrade and Jaoquim Jose Marcelino DeAndrade. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton, Monday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
