A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Louis Buteaux Sr., the former Geraldine Lorraine, 71, at 10 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2014, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Thomas Habetz officiating. Interment will be follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday, with a Rosary at 5 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday until service time.
A native of Brownsville, Texas, and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Buteaux passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Iberia Medical Center.
Mrs. Buteaux enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her dog Princess, whom she spoiled very much.
She is survived by her three daughters Michele Harris and husband, Paul, of Arlington; Texas, Cheri Metcalf and husband, Herman, of Sopchoppy, Florida, and Nicole Buteaux Perez of New Iberia; four sons Louis Buteaux Jr. and wife, Jenny, of New Iberia; Rod Buteaux and wife, Valerie, of Rocklin, California, Todd Buteaux and wife, Rina, of Lafayette and Jonas Buteaux and wife, Sara, of Youngsville; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one brother Hernaday Lorraine and wife, Rosie, of Houston; and three sisters Carol Lorraine, Sandra Bonin and husband, Terry, and Tammy Lorraine, all of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis “Pichie” Buteaux Sr.; two grandchildren Chelsey Marie Perez and Ryan Louis Perez; and her parents, Switzer and Anna Mae Comeaux Lorraine.
Pallbearers will be Lucas Durocher, Alex Durocher, Beau Buteaux, Dex Buteaux, Blake Prince and Joseph Landry. Herman Metcalf and Paul Harris will serve as honorary pallbearers.
