Roberta Carolyn Love Collins, 61 years of age, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, departed this life on Monday, December 15th, 2008 following a short illness.
Roberta was born in Somerset, Kentucky on October 17th, 1947, daughter of Mary Katherine Love and the late Charles Edward Love. Roberta dedicated her life to her children and family. In recent years, her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren and her four-legged kids. She enjoyed spoiling the grandkids, gardening, crocheting, needlepoint, cross-stitching, jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku & word search puzzles.
Roberta was survived by her loving husband and friend of forty-four years, Danny C. Collins of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, whom she married on December 5th, 1964 at Duke Memorial Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky; one daughter, Christina (and Darin) Huebner of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one son, Chad (and April) Collins of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Emily Ann Collins of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; one grandson, Kaiden Huebner of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; her mother, Mary Katherine Pierce of Somerset, Kentucky; her step-father, Beecher Pierce of Somerset, Kentucky; two sisters, Brenda (and Don) Sosbe of Roswell, Georgia and Connie (and David) Hines of Science Hill, Kentucky; two brothers, Tim (and Cindy) Pierce and Tony Pierce, both of Somerset, Kentucky; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins who mourn her passing; and her four legged children, Freya and Lai Ling.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Love, who departed this life on September 17th, 1962; her grandparents, Elmon and Vina Love, and Arnold and Josie Lane; her mother-in-law, Geneva Keucher; and her father-in-law, John Collins
Visitations were held after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20th, 2008 at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20th, 2008 in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Dr. French Harmon officiating.
Internment followed at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21st, 2008 at the Somerset City Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
