Sybil Valentine Lowry (nee Willdman) passed away peacefully after 96 years of loving life. She was born on Valentine's Day and had a place in her heart for all who knew her. Sybil was very proud of her lifelong heritage of being an Akron native, attending Akron Public Schools and graduating from Buchtel. She was best known in the Akron area for her flair for fashion. She was recognized by the Akron Beacon Journal on the "Best Dressed List" of women in Akron. Sybil and her husband Howard owned Howard's Children's Shoppe in the State Road Shopping Center. They worked together for over 40 years and every customer became a friend. Sybil loved to entertain, having poolside Sunday brunches, and was a good cook, making Shabbat dinner and lighting the candles every Friday. Her home was the gathering place for family and friends. Most importantly, Sybil was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of over 55 years, Howard; her sisters, Phyllis and Emogene; her brother, Phillip; and her daughter-in-law, Jody; she will be greatly missed by her three sons, Neil Ricky (Rona), Ronald (Debbie) and Randal; grandchildren, Michael, Adam, Mora (Tate), Justin, Marisa (Cain), Meredith, John William; great grandchildren, Holden, Wyatt, Mallory, Juliana, and Parker. Many thanks to the loving, caring staff at Concordia and Akron General Hospice.

Service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Revere Road Synagogue. Shiva/ calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the residence of Randal Lowry, 2390 Sourek Trail.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stewart's Caring Place, 2955 W. Market Street, Ste. R, Akron, OH 44333.
