Richard D. Lowry, age 91, passed away September 25, 2014.
He was born April 14, 1923 in Carbondale, Ohio. Richard served with the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from PPG with 42 years of service.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn and second wife, Marvel; son, Richard D. Lowry Jr.; and stepdaughter, Cynthia Flesher; he is survived by children, Carolyn (Ray) Vierheller, Jim (Cindy) Lowry, Connie Whitmer (Alex); grandchildren, Tracy Petitt, Ray Vierheller III, Heather Rhoades, Zack Lowry, Chad (Teresa) Whitmer, Lindsey (Dennis) Shin; five great-grandchildren; brother, James A. (Marion) Lowry; and sister, Kathleen Lowry.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hearts and Paws Rescue, PO Box 313, Canal Fulton, OH 44614. Calling hours will be held 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Cox Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave, Barberton 44203. Funeral service will be held 10:00AM Friday at Cox Funeral Home.
