Ada V. Bowles, 85, of Chillicothe, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2013 in the Adena Regional Medical Ceneter following a short illness.

She was born October 3, 1927 to the late William H. and Hazel M. Colburn Lowry. On May 19, 1950, she married Earl L. Bowles who died September 9, 2004.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Anna I. Mossbarger and Tim Freeman; grandchildren, Victor J. Wright, of South Salem, Franklin and Robin Wright, of Waverly, Tommy and Betsy Mossbarger, of Chillicothe, Victoria and Michael Brown, Angelia and Michael Hicks, Virginia and Allen Mossbarger-Stewart, all of Waverly. Victoria, Angelia and Virginia thought she was the greatest grandma. Also surviving are 10 great grandchildren; a special brother, Ernest Lowry; a special sister-in-law, Gypsy Lee Lowry; and special friends, Nancy and Curtis.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by daughters, Donna V. Bowles and Hazel J. Bowles; a son, William J. Bowles; grandchildren, Earl Mossbarger and Tammy Mossbarger; 3 sisters; and 4 brothers including a special brother, George Lowry.

Ada worked for Huston's Gift Shop for many years.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, with Pastor Dennis Garman officiating.

There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
