SALEM — Virginia C. "Jan" Boyd, 92, of Park Avenue, formerly of Lisbon and Lake Tomahawk, passed away peacefully at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006, at the Essex II of Salem following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Boyd was born Nov. 15, 1913, in Elkrun Township, the daughter of the late Ray and Maude (Swaney) Lowry.

A homemaker, she was a member of the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a Deacon and as a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association.

Jan loved to sew, and she enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling with her beloved husband, H. Dean Boyd, whom she married April 14, 1932. He preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1999.

She is survived and will be dearly remembered by her daughter, Mrs. Barbara (Dave) Cranmer of Lisbon; her son, Kenneth D. Boyd of Lisbon; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death are brothers, Kenneth and Forrest Lowry.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church, 111 East Chestnut St., with her pastor, the Rev. Mark R. Wilds, officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, Lisbon, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.

the family suggests that memorial contributions be made, if desired, to Project Hello, in care of the Salem Community Hospital, 1995 East State St., Salem, Ohio 44460 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
