Mineral Point - Patricia Ludden Ivey of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully early in the morning on October 4, 2009, at Marquette Manor Health Care Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was 92 years of age and the widow of Harry Suthers Ivey who predeceased her in February 2004. Her two children, Dr. Tom D. Ivey and wife, Dr. Marianne F. Ivey, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and her daughter, Harriet M. Ivey and husband, Dr. Richard E. Brashear, of Indianapolis, survive her. Other survivors include grandson Dr. Bert Ivey and wife Meilyn and great grandchildren Thomas (age 2) and Claire (2 weeks), of Indianapolis, and granddaughter Brooke Ivey of Cincinnati. Brother- and sister-in-law, Robert and Evelyn Ivey of Mineral Point and nephews Bob, Dick and Bruce Ivey, their wives, children and grandchildren also survive her.

Mrs. Ivey was born on January 6, 1917, to Dr. Homer Dexter and Mabel McWilliams Ludden in the family home in Mineral Point. Upon graduation from Mineral Point High School, she attended Rockford School for Girls before transferring to the University of Wisconsin in Madison from which she received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. She interned at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and worked as a dietician at Highland Park Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, before returning to Mineral Point to marry her long-time sweetheart, Harry Ivey on June 26, 1941. Mr. Ivey, a pharmacist, was affiliated with his father in the family drug store. Following the death of Mrs. Ivey's mother in 1944, the couple made their home with Dr. Ludden at 111 S. Iowa Street. Dr. Ludden died in 1965, and Margaret Ludden, Mrs. Ivey's older sister, predeceased her in 1969.

Mrs. Ivey was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, 300 Maiden Street, Mineral Point, where the funeral will be held on Monday, October 12, at 10:30 a.m. with interment following at Graceland Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gorgen Funeral Home at 310 Ridge Street, Mineral Point, on Sunday, October†11 from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitation also will be held at the church one hour before the funeral.
