-- Virden, Nov. 1.-Illness which followed the shock of finding his brother-in-law, Tolman Gelder, dead in a St. Louis hotel recently, claimed the life this morning of Elmer H. Lukins, aged 34 years, a former well-known resident of this town. Mr. Lukins died at the home of his father-in-law, John Gelder.
-- Mr. Lukins had been a resident of this city. Recently he found his brother-in-law, Tolman Gelder, dead in a rooom in a St. Louis hotel. The shock was followed by an attack of influenza which developed into pneumonia. Mr. Lukins was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Lukins.
-- Decedent is survived by his wife, Edith Gelder Lukins; his parents and three brothers, Lieutenant Raymond Lukins, now in France, and Charles and Richard Lukins, of Kansas City.
