Mrs. Farney was born Rose E. Macek on Sept. 9, 1910, in Noble Township, Ellsworth County, Kansas. Her parents were Joseph Macek and Josephine (Kottas) Macek.
She had four brothers, Fred, Joe, Edward, and Henry and two sisters, Alice and Emma, all deceased.
She married Mr. George Farney in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church on Sept. 25, 1934. They had no children. Her husband died July 21, 2001.
Rose was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society.
The funeral was Sept. 8 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Wilson. Father Jerome Morgan officiated. The Men's Choir sung the holy mass. Burial was in the church cemetery.
