Mrs. Mary E. (Mollie) Howell, 73, long-time resident of the Haywood area, died Saturday at her home in the Arpelar community. Her home is on Haywood, Star route. A housewife, she was born April 4, 1898, in Romulus, Indian Territory. She was married to F.D. Howell May 18, 1921, and they moved to this area soon after their marriage. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a son, Thomas W., Haywood; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Everett, Haywood, Mrs. Roe West, Denison, Texas, and Mrs. J.C. Hare, Talco, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Vergie Jarvis, Seminole, and Mrs. Gertie Hooker, Wilburton; four brothers, Jeff Madding, Oklahoma City, and John, Walter and Toolie Madding, California, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services are set for Monday at 2 p.m., at the Arpelar Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Harry Lee will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. Frank DiMiceli. Interment will follow in the Arpelar cemetery. The Mills-Humphrey Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Ashely Cook, Bob Cargill, Ralph Smalley, Wayne Hull, Tom Logan, and Gilbert Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Nave, Charles Mantooth, W.D. Loftis, Bill Blevins, Cecil Crawford, Troy Brassfield, and Bill Lee.
