Daisy Manning Baker, 80, of Owens Cross Roads, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Crestwood Hospital after a long illness.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Burns Drake officiating. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery at Owens Cross Roads.
Mrs. Baker was the widow of Robert H. Baker Sr.
She was a lifelong member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was also active as a Sunday school teacher in the Owens Cross Roads Methodist Church for many years, before a stroke in 1964 which restricted her activities. She graduated in 1908 from Florence State Normal College and taught several years in the rural schools of Jackson and Madison counties.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John R. Childers Sr., of Huntsville; and grandchildren, Robert H. (Bob) Baker III and T. Steven Baker, both of Owens Cross Roads, Mrs. Joe Butler (Anna Louise) Hereford of Gadsden; John R. Childers Jr., of Huntsville; N.P. Morrison III of Mobile and Mrs. L.R. Bombardier of Massachusetts; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Baker was also the mother of Robert Houston Baker Jr. and Mrs. N.P. (Louise) Morrison.
Pallbearers will be David Gold, C.A. Wilson, Homer Burton, Fred Manning, Rudolph Branum and Harvey Butler.
