Edna Frances Ganoe, 85, Romney, died Tuesday, February 16, 1999 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born June 21, 1913 in Hampshire County, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Laura F. Haines Maphis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur William "Babe" Ganoe, May 25, 1965; one foster brother, Walter Hott; and one grandson, Billy Davis Ganoe.
she worked for the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind for 34 years where she served as a cook, switchboard receptionist and seamstress. She was a member of the Romney First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are one son, Gary L. Ganoe, Romney; one daughter, Ruth Ganoe, Romney; seven grandchildren, Robert Lee Ganoe, Lisa Marie Kline, Raymond Ganoe and Richie Ganoe, all of Romney; Tina Locklar, Manassa, Va.; J. D. Ganoe of Texas and Joey Willis of Arizona; three great-grandchildren, Adam Sagar, Katie Crites and Timothy Locklar; and one great-great-grandchild, Tabitha Kline.
Services were conducted Friday, February 19, at 1 p.m. at the Romney First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Joseph A. Metzler officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney.
Memorials may take the form of donations to the Romney First Church of the Nazarene, 339 Elk Place, Romney, WV 26757.
The arrangements were under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney.
