She was born on July 2, 1936, in Shenandoah, a daughter of William and Ann Markunas.
Marie graduated from J.W Cooper High School in 1954 and Ashland State General Hospital Nursing school in 1957. She was a den mother, Girl Scout leader, and a special Olympics volunteer. She was a member of the Holy Family choir, St. Catherine of Sienna Choir Elderberries, Columbiettes, Marian Guild, Knights of Lithuania and Servants of Lord of Matara. She was a parishioner at St. George Church and Devine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah.
Marie was preceded in death by a son, William David Brilvitch; a brother, Frank "Duke" Markunas.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Brilvitch; daughter, Ann Marie Ott; sons, Peter and Paul Brilvitch; sister, Roseann Markunas; son- and daughters-in-law, Mike, Veronica, Melissa and April; grandchildren, Nicholas, Joshua, Jennifer, Nicole and Elaina.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center, Conn., and at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Shelton Road, Trumbull, Conn. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Shenandoah. Calling hours will he held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
