Diane K. Cagwin, 78 of Newville, NY (Town of Danube) passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at her residence.
She was born on July 1, 1938 in Fort Plain, NY the daughter of the late Doloris J and Doris (Horender) Masi. She was a graduate of Owen D. Young High School, Van Hornesville class of 1956.
On April 21, 1957 she was united in marriage to her husband of 51 years Keith L. Cagwin at St. James Catholic Church, Fort Plain. Mr. Cagwin predeceased her on October 26, 2008.
Diane attended the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls and was a member of the Astenrogen Chapter DAR. She enjoyed attending dances with her husband at many of the local events. The couple also danced competitively for many years. She also enjoyed reading, dining at local restaurants, traveling and spending time with family.
Diane was employed at one time by the Little Falls Evening Times, the former Montgomery Ward, the office of Dr. Bernard Burke, MD and last by the Little Falls City School District, first in the business office and later as an administrative assistant at Monroe Street School and Benton Hall Academy retiring several years ago. She also served as the Town of Danube Clerk for 41 years.
Diane is survived by her sons; Dale Cagwin and his companion Michelle, Lancaster, PA, Jeff Cagwin and his wife Teresa, Rochester, NY and Todd Cagwin and his wife Adel, Deerfield, NY her daughter; Melissa Morris and her husband Nathan, E. Herkimer, Sisters; Rosemary Casadonte (James), Herkimer, Elizabeth Mathy (Richard), Sauquoit, NY and Patricia Stock (Roger), Little Falls, her brother; David Masi (Barbara), Ft. Plain, her grandchildren; Evan, Julie, Brenna, Katie, Serenity, Brady, Jillian; step grandchildren; Peter, Jessie, Connor; great-grandson Connor David and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will take place at the Garlock Cemetery, Town of Danube.
