He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church of Elgin; American Legion Post 57 of Elgin; VFW Post 1307 in Elgin. He was inducted into the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame of which he was instrumental in founding. For many years Vic and Farney announced area high school basketball games.
Survivors include his two sisters, Helen M. McCullouch of South Elgin and Annie (William) Wright of Mattoon, IL.; 11 nieces and nephews; 19 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Russell Masi.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin to St. Thomas More Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Russo officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be held Friday, from 4-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Parkinson's Foundation.
