J.W. Mason

J.W. "Jake" Mason, 73, of 1511-A Pratt Ave., died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Church of God with the Rev. Michael N. Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Mason, a native of Jackson County, was retired from Marlin Stove Co.

Survivors include his wife, Jewell Mason; three daughters, Patricia Green, Peggy Dudley and Diane Majors, all of Huntsville; his stepmother, Sara Neveles of Huntsville; three sisters, Ada Wright of Texas, Lucy Smith of Florida and Polly Damaio of Nevada; two brothers, E.C. Mason of Huntsville and John D. Mason of Madison; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 3:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
