She was born September 26, 1927 in Bay Springs, a daughter of the late Webb Welborn and Beatrice Hancock Welborn. She was a member of Faithview Baptist Church in Jackson and loved her church family dearly. She and her late husband, J.W. Mason, owned and operated a ceramic shop in Brandon for many years. Elsie was an artist who loved to paint. She decorated many of her family and friends' homes with her beautiful work.
In addition to her beloved husband, she was also preceded in death by daughter, Sandy Mason.
Survivors include children, Roland Luckey (Nancy), Judy Steen (Joe), Janet Tate (Gene), and Billy Mason (Carol); grandchildren, Charlie Plyler (LuAnn), David Mason (Callie), Jamie Harper (Lee), and Logan Mason; great-grandchildren, Ryne and Hayden Plyer, Taylor Mason, Emma and Jake Harper.
