Elva Pappas
Elva Pappas, 56, of 310 N. Sacramento St. , died Saturday evening following short illness in a local hospital. A native of Oklahoma, she moved to Oroville in 1921. She moved to Lodi in 1956 following the death of her husband, Louis. She is survived by two sons; John Dryden and Robert Cochran both of Alaska; two daughters, Mrs. Katy Rousey of Alaska and Mrs. Alice Burt of Lodi; a sister, Mrs. Willie Long of Carmichael; three brothers, Orville Hurte of Eureka, Herman Mathis of Berkley and Hanley Mathis of Orville and six grandchildren. She was proceded in death by two sons, Stevie in 1961 and Nick in 1975. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Lodi Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Duncan of the Century assembly Church officiating, Burial will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lodi Funeral Home after 10 a.m. today
