Shirley "Kay" Elliott, 67, of Chetopa, Kansas died at 10:15 p.m., Friday, July 26,2013 at the Chetopa Manor Nursing Home.

She was born September 11, 1945 at Columbus, Kansas to William R. and Mildred E.(Correll) Mayfield.

She attended the Pleasant Valley District School in Cherokee County and also the Melrose School. She also attended the Cherokee County Rural High School in Columbus
and the Labette Community College in Parsons.

She had resided in Chetopa since 1968. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chetopa and had been active in various positions in the church as well as serving as the organist and pianist. She had worked for the Chetopa Schools as a part-time cook and had also worked formerly at the Hornet's Nest in Chetopa. She had retired to babysit her grandchildren which she greatly enjoyed.

She was married to Tom Elliott on June 2, 1963 in Chetopa. He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include, two sons, Greg Elliott and his wife, Gail of Pryor, Oklahoma and Phillip Elliott and his wife, Shelley of Towanda, Kansas; one daughter,
Terri Ross and her husband, Willard of Bartlett, Kansas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Mayfield and his wife, Becky of
Hallsville, Missouri.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alverna Mayfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the First Baptist Church inChetopa.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m., Tuesday until service time.

Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery near Columbus, Kansas.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Chetopa and
these may be left at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 6th and Locust Streets,
Chetopa, Kansas.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday.
