She was born on August 15, 1949 in Lake, Miss., daughter of Lucile (Crudup) Mayfield and the late John Henry Mayfield.
She was a member of Mount Zion Church and The New Birth Church. Lorean graduated from Sandusky High in 1968. She was employed by both Firelands and Admiral’s Pointe Nursing Home as a dietary manager. Lorean enjoyed her family and friends, geology, cooking, and shopping. She could be found at home spending time with her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lorean leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Sonya Adcock and Francene Adcock, both of Sandusky, and John D. Adcock, III, of Fremont; mother, Lucile Mayfield, siblings, Alvin Mayfield, John (Stephanie) Mayfield, and Frances (Glenn) Miller, all of Sandusky; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; special cousin, Louise Porter; and special friends, Deanna Sandridge, Anna Caranston, and Clarice Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her father; brothers, Halvin Mayfield and Shadrick Mayfield; and nephews, Johnathan “Pooh” Mayfield and Wendell “WK” or “Dub.”
Friends may on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 12 P.M. until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
