Verna met her husband, Samuel Porter Batton, at a social at the Mt. Zion Church. They were married Oct 22, 1932. They farmed some, lived in California during WWII, and moved back to El Reno in 1942. Porter retired from Dowell, Inc. They had 4 children.
Verna was preceded in death by her loving husband in 1983, and daughter, Beulah Mae in 1936, also 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her daughter Wanda and husband, Geo Floyd; 2 sons Victor and Lee; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. May God add his blessing to all who knew and loved Verna.
