Funeral rites for Mrs. Ida BABB, 86, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Roberts Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Luther NELSON, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Paul CARRINGTON accompanied Oscar SMITH who sang "Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior," and "A Closer Walk with Thee."
Mrs. BABB was born October 29, 1875 at Prairie Grove, Ark., the daughter of John ALDEN and Matilda MAYFIELD, and died at her home in Westville August 23, 1962.
She was married to Irvin N. BABB of Prairie Grove, August 17, 1898 and it was there, that they established their home and lived until 47 years ago when they moved to Westville and had continued to live until his death June 23, of this year, she continued to live alone in the home until her death last Thursday.
Interment was in the Westville Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Thomas BRIGHT, Owen BUFFINGTON, Oscar SMITH, Fred WILT, Regan RATLIFF and Bill DAVIS. Flower bearers were Mrs. Lloyd SLOAN, Mrs. Leslie ALDERSON, Mrs. Bill TULLIS, Mrs. Fred WILT and Miss Bertha BROWN.
Survivors include a son, Bryan BABB, Waco, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Lena MERTON, Chico, Calif., and Mrs. Edna NATION, Auburn, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a nephew, Earl LOCKARD, Stilwell.
