AYERS, BEULAH MAYNOR, died on the evening of March 21, 2007 on the eve of her 101st birthday. She accepted Christ at Pleasant View Baptist Church near Dutton, Alabama when she was twelve. Throughout her life she showed the love of Christ as a Living example. She had the confidence of a child of God that she would be joining her loved ones in heaven.
Beulah was born in a log cabin located in the Tennessee River Valley near what was then Bellfonte, Alabama. She married her beloved husband Henry Ayers just prior to her 17th birthday. She and Henry had two children. They lived in several locations in Alabama and Georgia. Just prior so her husband's retirement they resided in Apalachicola, Florida and Port St. Joe, Florida. After retirement, they moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Upon the death of her husband, she moved to Birmingham, Alabama to be near her son and his wife.
Beulah was active in church where she taught Sunday School. She was an excellent cook. She took in boarders and managed a Chenille bedspread business during the depression to help support her family. She managed a school lunchroom and sold freezers. She wrote poetry, did oil paintings, flower arrangements and crocheting. She won many awards for these activities. Most of all, she loved people.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maude Maynor; her sister, Louise Skinner; brother, Oscar Maynor; her husband, Henry; her daughter, Francis Colene Baine and granddaughter, Billie Jo Baine.
She is survived by her son, Bill (Dixie) Ayers; six grandchildren, Mike (Connie) Baine, Kay Baine, Renee (Carl) Schranz, Pam Hofer, Heather (Chris) McLean and Lance Ayers; thirteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation will he Tuesday, March 27, 2007 from1 PM till 2 PM with a service to follow the visitation at 2 PM in the chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale. Arizona. In Lieu of Flowers please make memorial contributions to Bluff Park Baptist Church, 2211 McGwier Drive, Birmingham.
