Mrs. Alice Leigh Ammons,82, of 1630 Indian Town Road, Clinton, died Wednesday at Sampson Regional Medical Center, Clinton, NC.

Mrs. Ammons, born in Cumberland County, was the daughter of the late Julius Ernest Maynor and Caroline Young Maynor. She was a homemaker and a member of Holly Grove Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Julius Maynor.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Reverend Wilbert Lee Ammons of the home, two daughters, JoAnn Simmons of Clinton and Gladys Lynch of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two sons, Bobby E. Ammons of Clinton and Julius Ammons of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Margaret Creech of Burlinton, Carrie Cook of Hope Mills, Dovie Clark of Hope Mills and Flossie Salazar of Gainesville, FL., seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.

The family recieved friends from 6-9pm, Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Holly Grove Holiness Church and at other times at the home.

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Holly Grove Holiness Church Kingdom Life Building Fund, 1519 Indian Town Rd., Clinton, NC.

The funeral was held at 3pm, Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Holly Grove Holiness Church with the Rev. Randy Simmons and Rev. Michael Jacobs officiating.

Entombment was made in Grandview Memorail Gardens, Clinton, NC.

The family entrusted the care of Mrs. Ammons to the Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton.
