WATER VALLEY: Christine Kisner Maynor, 77, died at her home on Friday, December 30, 2005. She was a member of North Main Methodist Church in Water Valley and served as church treasurer. She was a member of the Samaritan Rebekah Lodge #38 of Water Valley, where she was currently serving as treasurer. A very active member of her lodge, this is one of the many offices she held at various times. Mrs. Maynor was also currently serving as treasurer of the Rebekah Assembly of Mississippi, and is a past president of the Rebekah Assembly of Mississippi. She was retired from Maynor Motors and prior to that she worked in the offices of Motts and Big Yank Corp. A former First Lady of Water Valley, she will be rememberd as a sweet, gentle, and soft spoken lady, always ready to help or listen.
Funeral services for Mrs. Maynor were held at two o'clock in the afternoon Sunday, January 1, 2006, in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home, with Rev. Fred Eakes and Rev. John Rhoades officiating. Interment followed in
Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley.
Survivors include: her son, Jimmy Maynor of Memphis; a brother, Ernest David "Sonny" Kisner, Jr. of Bruce; a sister, Ernestine Kisner Simon of Chicago; one grand daughter; and one great-grand daughter, both of Water Valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garlon Maynor (March 4, 1997), her parents, Ernest David Kisner, Sr. and Cathey Babb Kisner, and two brothers, James "Gus" Kisner and Johnny Kisner.
