Ada Bennett

Ada V. Bennett, 85, of the Bradford Nursing Pavilion, formerly of 16 Cole Ave., died Tuesday (Oct. 21, 2003) in Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born April 8, 1918, in Tyler, she was a daughter of James and Dessie Yale McCracken. On March 16, 1938, in Bradford, she married Harry J. Bennett, who preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1964.
Mrs. Bennett attended school in Millrun and Penfield High School, where she was valedictorian of the class of 1937. She had been employed at Zippo Manufacturing Co. in the repair department.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bradford and the Wimodausis at the church. She had volunteered at Community Outreach and the Red Cross asa transporter for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Ostrander of Bradford; one son, Donald Bennett of Bradford; three granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Dora Colosimo of Smethport; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
