Mary (McGann) Boudreau, widow of Lawrence J. Boudreau, passed away on July 1, 2011. She would have been 96 in August. Mary was a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother. She was also a good friend, in many cases a great friend, to everyone who ever knew her.

Mary grew up in Hartford. She married and began raising her children there. In 1955 she and her family moved to Bloomfield where she worked in the school cafeteria system until retiring at the age of 73. In her later years, she lived at the Court of St. James in West Hartford, Hamilton Heights also in West Hartford and Arden Courts in Farmington. Along the way she touched and lighted up the life of family, friends, neighbors, coworkers and caretakers.

Mary loved everyone. And anyone who knew her loved her in return. Wherever she lived, wherever she worked, everyone knew Mary. Her charm, her style, her good humor were infectious and compelling. Mary's presence in any room made it a better place to be. Mary leaves behind family and friends who have been blessed to share this life with her. And in return Mary leaves her love for all of us. Mary's family wishes to thank everyone who gave comfort to her during the past few years. Special thanks go to her great and wonderful friends from West Hartford and Bloomfield. Very special thanks go to the competent and caring staff at Arden Courts where Mary spent her last two years. Her family will be forever grateful for the genuine love and affection they had for her.

Mary leaves behind two sons, Reverend Paul Boudreau and Ken Boudreau, along with his wife, Judy. She also leaves her grand daughter, Nicole Papas and her husband Art, and two great grandchildren, Grace and Matthew.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main St., West Hartford. A private burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be Saturday morning one hour prior to the service from 9:30-10:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT. Published in The Hartford Courant on July 6, 2011
