PEORIA, IL - Mary Margaret Day, 81 of Peoria, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Liberty Village Manor Court in Peoria.
Born February 19, 1925 in Peoria, the only daughter of Michael J. and Beatrice Matilda "Bea" Brophy McGann, she married George H. Day on January 3, 1948 in Peoria. He passed away in August 26,1968 in Peoria.
She is survived by son, G. Mark (Leah Lynch) Day of Peoria;
granddaughter, Sarah;
brothers, John M. (Rita) McGann of Phoenix, AZ, Patrick J. (Rita) McGann of Peoria and James K. (Wanda) McGann of Winter Park, FL;
several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert F. McGann.
She attended St. Patrick's Grade School and graduated from the Academy of Our Lady class of 1943.
She worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 27 years, last working in the Benefits and Compensation Department, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria.
