Lori Ann McGauley
Born: November 13, 1962
Died: October 15, 2015

Lori Ann McGauley, age 52, of Live Oak, FL. passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. following a very brief illness.

Lori was born in Valdosta, Georgia on November 13, 1962 to Martha Nell Smith McGauley and the late Walter Lee “Buddy” McGauley. She was a longtime resident of Hamilton County, FL. Lori was a C.N.A. and worked at nursing homes in Suwannee County and later at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper. She was a caregiver and so it was natural that she took a lead role in caring for her father Buddy until his death in 2008. Her greatest joy in life however was having the God given privilege of raising her young son into adulthood. Sometimes it took all that she had to give but considered every minute spent worth it all just to see the smile on his face when he accomplished goals that had been set for him. She was what you could describe as an “involved” parent and was an avid participant in local “Stop Bullying “campaigns. Lori was a lady of faith and believed all things were possible when you had God on your side. She involved her son in church activities and provided the foundation she knew he would need in the future. If Lori had a past time beyond caring for Cody, it would be her guilty pleasure of watching “The Walking Dead" and catching a fish every once in a while.

Lori was preceded in death by her father Buddy and brothers, Anthony McGauley and Clint Taylor.

Survivors include her son, Cody Honcoop of Live Oak, FL.; her mother and step-father, Martha Nell and Ted Baker, Jasper, FL.; two brothers, Lee McGauley, Live Oak, FL. and Chris McGauley and his wife Vicki, Jasper, FL.; one sister, Cheryl McGauley, Jasper, FL.; two nephews, Brock and Jeremiah; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Also surviving are Lori’s step brother, Robert Mitchell, Jr. and step sisters, Stephanie Mitchell and Willa Phillips.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Suwannee Station Baptist Church near Live Oak with Pastor Steve Thompson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church of Saturday beginning at 10:00
