Mrs. Allison died on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 in Amarillo. She was born on Feb. 20, 1920 to Sam and Loveta (Swann) McKinstry in Hagerman, N.M. She married Oscar Allison in Roswell, N.M. on Jan. 2, 1948. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1982, as well as her parents and two sons-in-law, L.T. Johnson and Buddy Black.
Mrs. Allison moved to Muleshoe in 1948, from Las Cruces, and in 2006 moved to Amarillo. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Muleshoe. She was President of WMS and held many offices in that organization. She attended Colorado Women's College in Denver and also attended Texas Tech. She played bridge and belonged to several clubs, and was active in the community and church. She lived in the Pleasant Valley community for a number of years and belonged to the Pleasant Valley Social Club.
Survivors include two sons, Mack Allison and wife Kay of Enid, Okla. and Sam Allison and wife Kathy of Amarillo; two daughters, Nan Johnson of Muleshoe and Susan Black of Dumas; two sisters, Jean Allison of Muleshoe and Mildred Shirley of Granbury; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
