Remembered as caring, loving; resident of Chatham
CHATHAM - Anne Christine "Chrissy" Merrick Confalone, passed away on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at Cape Cod Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Christine was the wife of Anthony J. Confalone of Chatham for 35 years. She was the mother of Anthony J. Confalone II, Joseph P. Confalone, and Brian P. Confalone.
Chrissy, as she was known to friends and family, was the daughter of the late Army Captain, Joseph Merrick of Boston, and the late Nancy J. Merrick, of Cape May, N.J. She was also the daughter-in-law of the late Pasquale A. Confalone and Helen E. Confalone, both of Chatham.
Chrissy was born in the Boston area, and spent most of her youth on Cape Cod, graduating from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in 1965, and first making her home in Chatham in 1970.
During their 35 year marriage, the Confalones lived in Houston, Texas, Fort Collins Colo., and Española, N.M., before ultimately settling back in Chatham.
Christine, a beloved mother, wife, and sister, is survived by sisters, Kathy Merrick of St. Augustine, Fla., Alice Weschler of Purcellville, Va., and Margaret Ellis of Zancudo, Costa Rica; brothers, Nicholas Merrick of Christchurch, New Zealand, Andrew Merrick of Rockville, Md., and Michael Merrick of Sunnyvale, Calif.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members on Cape Cod and around the world.
Chrissy is thought of as a mother to many who she affected deeply during her life with her unwavering ability to listen, love, and care for all those around her.
The Confalone family would like to thank all of their caring friends and relatives for their support through this difficult time. While we all miss Christine very deeply, we will rejoice in the knowledge that she will be right there with us forever.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 17, at The Holy Trinity Church in Harwich.
